Adoption Update: Jim spent the first few weeks of his life confined in a cramped and dirty cage. As a young puppy born and raised on a dog meat farm in South Korea, he had never known the love of a human and lacked the proper care and comfort. But Jim’s life was about to take an amazing turn, as he was among the 200 dogs rescued from Farm 18 in South Korea, a facility that was closed in 2023, prior to the country’s announced ban on the dog meat trade.

Adoption Update: Teddy finds his forever family. While just a puppy, Teddy had experienced some unthinkable atrocities on a dog meat farm in South Korea. He spent his entire life living in a barren cage and eating food waste, kept alive only long enough to be slaughtered for dog meat. Malnourished, scared, and alone, Teddy faced a bleak reality. However, his life was about to take a positive turn.

We first met Samsun on a South Korean dog meat farm, kept alive only to produce puppies that would be slaughtered for dog meat. Samsun was confined to a cage with her puppies—Jackson, Plumbly, and Buster—who had never experienced the outdoors beyond their cramped enclosure. The farm housed over 200 dogs, all of which exhibited evident signs of sickness, depression, or severe malnutrition.
