Scrat’s adoption story highlights a major issue in Canada: unethical breeders. He was seized by authorities in the province of Québec, from a breeding facility where he was being used over and over again to reproduce for financial gain.
Upon his arrival at our care and rehabilitation centre, he was extremely fearful. He was scared of people and was visibly stressed as he could not stop shaking. After some time at our centre, receiving care and support from our team of experts to help him gain confidence, we’re happy to report that Scrat started to come of out of his shell. He improved so much in such a short period of time!
We quickly found a foster home for Scrat, as the companionship of other dogs would continue to boost his confidence. He thrived so much there that his fosters decided that he would be the perfect addition to their family! Way to go, Scrat!
