The Chiots Nordiques Kangirsuk Sterilization Clinic was a huge success! 102 dogs were given access to a veterinary examination and 80 of them were sterilized. We were glad to be a part of it.

Kangirsuk is an Inuit community located 230km north of Kijjuaq. Spay and neutering animals is crucial to ensure population control and animal welfare in remote communities. This expedition was also an opportunity to raise awareness on important issues such as vaccination, as rabies is endemic in this region of Québec.

Upon request of the community, we also welcomed 7 dogs our Trauma Rehabilitation Centre located near Montreal, to provide them with the help they need to gain confidence and learn to trust humans.

A big thank you to the people of Kangirsuk for the warm welcome and to Chiots Nordiques for their exceptional work in Indigenous communities.
